| Big Mistake in ground lift reinforcements |
The lift reinforcement cage was provided to support the capsule of the lift. The cage must be provided according to the drawing plan In this lecture we discuss the main error which may occur in the reinforcements.

Seems you've shown the reinforcement of a shear wall. Joggling in main longitudinal bars is allowed within certain limits I.e. 1 in 6 ratio, hiweveh same shall be avoided. Now, observing a big mistake is providing laps in all main bars in the same cross-section which should be staggered at a height as per codal provisions.

ReplyDeleteSpecimen of Reinforcement bar can be tested for chemical composition as well as physical test like tensile, bend & rebend tests. Bars shall be HYSD (high yield strength deformed bars) and TMT bars of required tensile strength as per design. Visually, bars shall be provided with pitch & ribbed as per codes and shall be well cleaned without any corrosion.
