What is a rooftop unit? A packaged rooftop unit, or RTU, is a type of HVAC system that contains all the components needed to provide conditioned air in one concise unit. Packaged rooftop units are commonly found in light and large commercial applications. They are very popular with retail and industrial properties.

RTU Rooftop units explained. In this video we'll be looking at how RTU's work to learn HVAC engineering. We'll be starting with the basics and looking at different 3D models to cover the internal components such as dampers, fans, filters, cooling coils etc. We'll also look at typical setups to help you build your base knowledge.
