Fe 415, Fe 500, Fe 500D are commonly used rebars in India. Now a days mostly Fe 500D TMT bars are used as rebars. In Fe 500D the letter D represents ductility which means this grade has more ductility than Fe 500. Ductility represents more percentage of elongation under tension. Where as TMT meaning is Thermo Mechanically Treated bars which is a method of manufacturing process of steel bars. TMT bar consists of core (inner circular part) having ductile property and surface has brittle property.
