It is becoming preferable, both environmentally and economically, to upgrade building structures rather than to demolish them and rebuild them. On the pictures below is shown a construction of the strengthening interventions of a three-story reinforced concrete building in Glyfada, Athens. This project involved increasing of 66 R/C columns their cross-sections with the application of new steel reinforcement and concrete. Interventions were also carried out at the foundation of the building.This building was all strengthened from the footing till the roof!
