The design load combinations are the various combinations of the load casesfor which the structure needs to be designed.
For ACI 318-08, if a structure issubjected to dead (D), live (L), pattern live (PL), snow (S), wind (W), andearthquake (E) loads, and considering that wind and earthquake forces arereversible, the load combinations in the following sections may need to be con-sidered (ACI 9.2.1).For post-tensioned concrete design, the user can specify the prestressing load(PT) by providing the tendon profile. The default load combinations for post-tensioning are defined in the following sections.
